City walls of Dubrovnik

While googling about Dubrovnik, I stumbled on this quote by George Bernard Shaw - "Those who seek paradise on earth should come to Dubrovnik". Big words -  That got my hopes all high and Dubrovnik sure did live up to all the expectations.

Here are a few pics from this beautiful walled city which they fondly call 'Pearl of Adriatic'.  This post is focussing only on the city wall and beautiful walk on it. It is one of the best ways to see this magnificent city that was built centuries ago.

First pic that we took of City walls 💙

These city walls were initially built in 9th century to protect the city and now they are part of UNESCO Heritage Sites (More history on their WIKI page :)). It is quite a climb to get to top of these walls especially during summer months, but gorgeous views of these terracotta roofs with Adriatic Sea in background makes it totally worth the climb.

Another view from city walls ! Though it's only a 2 mile walk make sure to stock up on water..

Or have an ice cream ! Yep , I had 2 of these as  my breakfast 🙈

And the walk continued ..

Look at the color of sea ..

Happy souls kayaking to nearby Lokrum island! I was such a chicken and backed out but if you have strong arms definitely fun to kayak to nearby islands. Sea was so calm, so serene ..

Another view.. By the way Dubrovnik is Kings Landing for those of you who watch Game of Thrones ! Game of Thrones locations can be found all around the city and there are quite a few tour companies and local run walking tours.

How can I not mention Cafe Bar Buza ! Perched on the cliffs by the city wall, this cafe bar has most stunning location.  There is an old wooden sign with an arrow that says "Cold drinks with the most beautiful view" and indeed it was - we went there twice during our stay :)

There are so many islands nearby and it's definitely recommended to do an island hopping tour.. The view as you sail away from the city is so beautiful ..

And now to fashion! Off shoulder and cold shoulder dresses are a big trend this season. So I wore this beautiful  tiered off-pink dress from ASOS. It's so roomy and airy and was perfect for hot humid day at Dubrovnik.

Unfortunately I do not have any close up shots of this dress , but pretty sure you are enjoying the beauty of Dubrovnik rather than looking at my dress in these pics !

And these ones are  from Cafe Bar Buza !

There are hundreds of pics from this trip. But may be for a different post ! Hope you enjoyed .. Thanks for reading !x
